During the Easter Long Weekend, I participated in the Stawell Gift, Australia's oldest and richest short-distance running race. Over the three days, I competed in five races, including the main event of the carnival, the Strickland Family Women's Gift, where the winner was awarded $40,000. Sadly, I did not win the prize money, but nonetheless, the event was well worth the wait, since I was able to watch some of Australia's best athletes compete against one another. I even managed to make it to the semi-finals of the Women's Gift, which was broadcasted on national TV. It's safe to say that the Stawell Athletics Club made up for the cancellation of the event in 2020 due to COVID, and I can't wait to see what next year's event has in store!
