2023 Investiture Assembly – Changing of the Guards
At the 2023 Investiture Assembly, the College witnessed the formal changing of the leadership team. We watched as the incredible 2023 Student Leadership Team handed over the mantel to the new 2024 Student Leadership Team. This ceremonial celebration of leadership within our school brought a positive outlook for the new year to come and allowed to 2024 team to present themselves to the College as a group of new faces to look out for.
As College Captains of 2024, we had the opportunity to introduce ourselves and our personal plans for the future, we mentioned a few of our goals that we cannot wait to implement at MSJ next year. This included the pressing need for further sustainability practices within the school and the connection beyond MSJ into the wider local community. We want to build relationships between year levels and have whole school events that bring us closer together as a MSJ community.
During the Assembly we had a special feature from the Bollywood Fusion Dancers, a group of students from a range of Year levels who have been working for months to perfect their dance moves and based on the screaming applause the dance was well recieved.
MSJ’s very own band, ‘The Stickheads’ also performed. After locating a runaway drum pedal, the group showcased the incredible talent of the music students at MSJ, in a very loud rock number that left everyone bobbing their heads to the beat.
The VM students spoke about the various projects they have undertaken this year, they certainly have been busy! And Bianca Anderson and Joanne Vivera spoke about their AJJASS Pilgrimage with Lauren Price and Ebony Silva and how they were able to learn more about Mary MacKillop and the Josephite charism.
And the House Cup winners were announced…drum roll please…Providence! Congratulations!
Wow, we fit in a lot here at MSJ!
The assembly was a great way to introduce the new leadership team and created an exciting lead up for 2024.
