In 2022, our school is participating in Melbourne Archdiocese Catholic Schools – School Improvement Surveys (MACSSIS).
One of the main goals of the family survey is to identify the strengths and areas for improvement in our school. MACSSIS data benefits everyone within our school and provides valuable community insights on areas that each school can focus on. Our College believes it is important to encourage families to have a voice and contribute to shaping the ongoing improvement of the school.
The survey will be available online and can be accessed from Monday 29 August and needs to be completed by Friday 16 September 2022. This survey will be emailed to all families and may only be completed once.
On Tuesday 19 and Wednesday 20 July, Year 8 visited Wyndham Tech School to learn about the future of work through STEM.
We learnt about various types of technology, like robots and game development. We all learnt some pretty cool new skills. Outside, we got greeted by a robotic dog, Spot. When we went inside, we saw a human-like robot called Peppa. She could do lots of things, and had responses to many different things, like when someone patted her head, she would say, “Ooh I like it when you touch my head”.
We did four activities throughout our day. The activities included programming our own Lego robot, disarming a bomb in VR, game development and battle bots. In VR, most groups were able to disarm the bomb but some weren't fast enough and they would explode. In game development, we had to put kill boxes down and create platforms so we could walk from island to island. When we went to the battle bots activity, it was really loud because balloons kept popping. We made a battle bot from Lego and each group had four pins to put on their bot, each battle bot had 1-2 balloons for the other bots to try to pop. At the Lego robot station, we made our own Lego robots then we programmed them to separate red and green toy lettuces. Overall, we had a great time at Wyndham Tech and would definitely go back again if we had the chance.

Caitlyn Martin (Year 8) was very successful in a recent ballet competition in Sydney. We are very proud of your achievements Caitlyn and we hope to hear more about your future successes. Maybe one day on stage in London, Paris or New York?
