Go with Virtue and Courage
In 2020 and 2021, our Year 12 students have adapted to this rapid and prolonged lockdown and shown a willingness to engage with the online environment. Year 12 students are to be congratulated for the learning success they have achieved and the resilience they have exhibited in the last two years.
I take this opportunity to note the incredible flexibility and agility of the 2021 student leadership group, for their passion and their resilience. In 2020 and 2021, we needed courageous leadership and this group of 2021 school leaders will certainly be remembered for leading with the Josephite spirit, with virtue and courage and a sense of connection. They have lived the MSJ values and motto with graciousness and have been wonderful role models to all their peers.
We wish the graduating Class of 2021 every blessing as they move beyond our gates and into the world.
The decision to run the Year 8 to Year 11 exams was carefully considered, and as a college, we decided that holding the exams will be of great benefit to our students. The exams will allow us to consolidate and evaluate the learnings for 2021 and measure data patterns to determine the impact of remote learning on student outcomes. The examination outcomes will provide the opportunity to identify any learning gaps that may require addressing.
We wish all Year 12 students well as they prepare to undertake their VCE examinations over the next few weeks. Year 12 students have been issued with advice about how to manage their study over the coming weeks. The College has COVID-safe plans for students to study and meet with teachers at the College.
VCAA written examinations commence on Wednesday 27 October with English and English EAL and conclude on Thursday 17 November.
